General Questions

  • My packages and prices can be seen here:

  • Absolutely! I offer a free 15-minute GoogleMeet so you can ask questions, tell me a bit about your event, and we can see if JOYFOOL is the right fit for your you.

You can request a GoogleMeet here.

  • Yes! For all my wedding couples, I include an in-person catch-up (coffee on me!) two to three months out from your wedding date. We’ll chat about you, your guests, and the music you love. For all non-wedding bookings, I offer a 40-minute GoogleMeet to plan the run sheet and music brief together.

  • I travel anywhere up to 1 hour (one way) from North East Adelaide for free. Anything further might incur travel fees, and in some cases, overnight accommodation may be needed.

  • I mainly serve South Australia, but please feel free to contact me about interstate bookings.

  • Yes! I’m reasonably flexible and happy to tailor services to your needs.

  • If I’m there for more than 5–6 hours, working through a main meal period, or if everyone else is being served food—it’s super appreciated (and expected) that a meal is provided.

  • I just require ust access to power within 20 metres, and overhead cover to protect my equipment from sun glare. That’s it!

    • DJ booth (black frame with black or white panels)

    • Premium white speakers

    • One DJ booth light (colour-phasing or static ambience)

    • One tall stand light system (moving heads, lasers, patterns, colours)

    • Two handheld wireless microphones

    • All necessary cables and gear

    Live performer packages include:

    • Musical keyboard and stand

  • Yes! Doing all three is my favourite kind of gig. You’ll save money and get a seamless experience by booking me as your DJ, MC, and live musician instead of hiring three separate vendors.
I’ll plan everything in an organised and stress-free way, arrive early, soundcheck thoroughly, and run everything to a beautifully prepared run sheet.

DJ
Questions

  • I actually DJ!
First, I get to know your exact music taste via a detailed questionnaire. Then I build customised playlists so I’m prepped. On the night, I watch your guests and read the room—adjusting in real-time.
I do live transitions (mixing vocals from one track over the beat of the next, looping out, slamming choruses in—all that fun stuff). I can take requests and work them in creatively and quickly.
You can check out my DJ skills on my Instagram reels.
The only time I might briefly use Spotify is if I’m MCing and have to manage a few things at once. Or if someone requests something super niche and I don’t already own it.

  • All kinds! I have a massive collection across all genres and decades. I usually mix popular tracks that suit all ages—think 70s disco, 90s R&B, pub rock, pop singalongs, 2020s dance, and everything in between. The exact mix depends on your music taste, which we shape together through your questionnaire. I’m here to play the music you love, not my favourite obscure remixes that nobody knows!

  • Yes! Well—if you want me to. If you'd rather I stick to your chosen genres, I’ll keep Uncle Steve from requesting the Chicken Dance. You and I will chat before the event about how you want me to handle requests. This is your event, afterall!

MC
Questions

  • First and foremost: I’m myself. People can tell when you’re not. I use dot points and a loose script—but I don’t plan every word or every joke. I flow with the moment and keep things authentic. I don’t talk for long stretches, but I’m happy to fill time and keep the vibe warm while you’re doing important things. I'm friendly, bright, and clear—and I only say what needs saying. If someone needs to be the butt of a (light) joke, I’ll happily be the fool. I like to help people feel comfortable with me.

  • Great question! An MC stands for ‘Master of Ceremonies’. It's a fancy way to say that I run and maintain the event from start to finish, making sure everything that’s scheduled happens smoothly. I communicate behind the scenes with vendors (venue owners, kitchen staff, photographers, etc.), as well as VIPs, speech-givers, and of course—you. It’s my job to make sure the run sheet flows, and when things go wrong (because they just do!), I’m the one to fix it, rearrange the run sheet quickly, and communicate the changes to everyone who needs to know—doing it seamlessly, with a smile, and often a joke.

Before the event, as your MC, I’ll put together the run sheet. I’ll start working on it as soon as you book with me, and I’ll keep refining it (with your help via questionnaires and a meeting—online or in person) up until two weeks before your event. I’ll give you a call early in the week of the event to talk you through everything.

Live Singer + Performer Questions

  • Yes, I’d love to! You can add that to your wedding package. You can see my add-on prices here.

  • For live performances, I cover popular songs from the 60s to now: pop, soul, ballads, rock, singer-songwriter—you name it. Here's my Spotify live performance song list:
There’s almost 24 hours of music there, and it’s always growing!

If you have a song you’d like me to learn that’s not in my usual repertoire, I’m happy to consider it! If it’s a really popular one I’m likely to use again, I’ll usually add it for free. But if it’s something more niche, personal, or unlikely to be reused, I charge a small fee to learn it.

Miscellaneous
Questions

  • Honestly, everything. (Cop-out answer, I know.) My whole life, people have said, "you really know every song," because I sing along to everything I hear. I was raised in a musical family, so my internal music library is huge.

    I personally love:

    • Popular artists: Childish Gambino, Phoebe Bridgers, Radiohead, HAIM, Taylor Swift, Fleetwood Mac, Rihanna, Billie Eilish, Billy Joel, Florence and the Machine, Bruno Mars/Silk Sonic

    • Indie faves: Sharon Van Etten, Maggie Rogers, Middle Kids, Kate Davis, Ball Park Music, Lucy Rose, Lizzie McAlpine, Tiny Habits, Joji, Aleksiah

    • Fun fact: when Michael Jackson died, I became such a hardcore fan that I moonwalked down school hallways with a hat and glove yelling, "Long live the King of Pop!" My crush called me “Michael Jackson girl.” I now understand why he didn't like me back.

  • I’m Jasmine. I’m 27 and I’ve lived in South Australia my whole life. I’ve been in love with music since before I was even born (somehow), and I’m so lucky that my life now revolves around helping people experience joy through music (hence the joy in JOYFOOL.)
I started singing and taking piano lessons when I was five, and I’ve been playing ever since. I’m a singer-songwriter and I’m currently studying a Bachelor of Music, majoring in pop. (Yes, they really do make degrees out of anything these days. Haha.)
I married my partner Bailey in 2020 during peak COVID. We planned the whole thing in three months, so I personally know how wild wedding planning can be! Our wedding was awesome, and our marriage is even better. I genuinely love love—so weddings, families, and couples are my jam. I often tear up during speeches and first dances (hope that’s okay with you, lol).
I have an 11-year-old cat named Collie, who I would drag myself naked over hot coals for, to which she would not acknowledge. I would describe myself as fun, loving, excitable, colourful, and a bit odd (hence the fool in JOYFOOL). I also laugh way too hard at my own jokes. Let’s be friends!

  • I’ve been DJing and MCing since December 2022 after learning from the amazing Tania Smith at Choons and Moovz! I soon started out with birthdays, then corporate events and weddings—and I still do heaps of Choons and Moovz gigs today, alongside running my own business, JOYFOOL, which I started in 2023.

I’ve been singing and playing piano/keyboard my whole life, and it’s one of my favourite things to bring to an event. Over the years, I’ve gotten really comfortable taking live requests on the spot—if I’ve heard the song a few times and can pull up the lyrics, I can usually play and sing it straight away, no rehearsal needed. It’s a fun skill I’ve used at events like Tasting Australia, private parties, corporate gigs, and more.
